Why Green?
Green building is the concept of sustainable development,
Green buildings are high performance and are intended
to be environmentally responsible, energy efficient,
economically profitable, and health places to live
and work
- As a group we felt it was
important to maximize opportunities to achieve
superior energy efficiencies and implement green
building standards and practices. This mean placing
importance on the amount of resources used to
construct and operate the
building and to increase the efficiency with which
the building uses energy, water and materials.
- The green building practices
we used will reduce the building impact on human
health and the environment through design, construction,
operation, maintenance, and waste.
- It is clear green buildings
is here to stay as the economic realities are
enticing more developer, building owners and investors
embrace green building techniques within their
decision processes.
- We think it’s important
to follow the U.S. Green Building Council guidelines
LEED, Leader ship in Energy and Environmental
Design (LEED). We think that buildings that don’t
do this will become obsolete and our buildings
will continue to be high performance can increase
in value.
- There is much to be gained
by the tenants of green buildings and it’s
not limited to lower operation costs primarily
on saved energy and water. But also, lower exposure
to energy price volatility and cost escalation.

Green Pledge |
|
We need to pledge allegiance to the earth
and to the flora, fauna and human life that
it supports. Environmental responsibility
has not local, state, or national boundaries,
This means one planet with clean air, soil
and water for all. |

Tenants in green buildings also realize productivity gains
from their workforce who operate in a healthy environment
in which a premium is placed on higher indoor air
quality and daylight harvesting. Eliminating the
risk from mold and indoor air problems. Workforce
productivity gains are significant benefit of working
in a green building.
This was a legacy project. Within
the group are a total of 14 children, and we wanted
to make a statement to them of what was important
to us.
We were the first developers
in Connecticut to register a commercial project
with the US Green Building Council.
